<h3 id="1">New Jersey</h3>
<p>New Jersey officially became the 14th <a href="https://weedzly.com/library/states-that-have-recently-legalized-cannabis">US state to legalize recreational cannabis</a> use in 2021.</p>

<h3 id="3">Montana</h3>

<p>Adults of 21 years and above can legally purchase and possess up to one ounce of marijuana or 8 grams of cannabis concentrate at a time.</p>
<p>Montana laws contain regulations on who can grow marijuana and where. Adults growing cannabis for personal use can only cultivate it indoors. An individual can only grow two cannabis plants in their homes, and each household can legally grow a maximum of 4 plants.</p>
<p>Registered medical marijuana patients with an identified provider can buy up to 1 ounce of cannabis flower or 1 ounce of cannabis concentrates, or the equivalent amount of edibles.</p>

<h3 id="4">Illinois</h3>
<p>Illinois became the 11th state to legalize recreational use of cannabis in 2020 after the legalization of medicinal marijuana in the year 2018.</p>
<p>Adults of 21 years and above can purchase and possess up to thirty grams of marijuana from any licensed store. People visiting Illinois can also buy and possess up to fifteen grams of cannabis.</p>

<h3 id="5">Michigan</h3>
<p>Both medicinal and recreational use of cannabis is legal in Michigan. A 2018 initiative passed with 56% votes, thereby legalizing recreational use of marijuana in Michigan. However, the licensed sale of recreational cannabis started later in 2019.</p>
<p>Adults of 21 years and above can legally possess a maximum of 2.5 ounces of marijuana in public or 15 grams of concentrate. Additionally, adults can have a maximum of 10 ounces of cannabis in their private homes.</p>
<p>Despite this legality, however, you cannot use marijuana anywhere in Michigan. You must only consume marijuana in your private residence, and those living in rented homes ought to seek approval from their landlords.
