<h2 id="2">Step By Step Instructions To Make A Water Bottle Bong</h2>
<h3 id="3">Step #1 - Prepare the bottle</h3>
<p>The best type of bottle to use for a water bottle bong is a standard 16.9 ounce one. If you can&rsquo;t find one of these, you can use a soda bottle - but you&rsquo;ll want to make sure and rinse out all of the residues before proceeding. Once you&rsquo;ve found the right bottle and rinsed it clean if necessary, go ahead and remove the label.</p>
<h3 id="4">Step #2 - Make a down stem</h3>
<p>Now, create a downstem that will hold your bowl. The easiest way to do this is by completely taking apart a highlighter, pen, or marker so that you&rsquo;re only left with the cylindrical body. The empty tube serves as your downstem.</p>
<h3 id="5">Step #3 - Find a bowl</h3>
<p>If you have a metal bowl lying around, you can see if it fits inside your plastic pen tube. If it works, great; if not, you&rsquo;ll have to craft a bowl out of aluminum foil.</p>
<h3 id="6">Step #4 - Create a hole for the downstem</h3>
<p>Use your cutting instrument to cut a small hole in the side of the bottle. It should be about an inch or so under the midway point on the bottle. Just be sure the hole is only large enough for the downstem to fit inside. After the hole is created, insert the downstem at a downward angle to where it almost touches the bottom of the water bottle.</p>
<h3 id="7">Step #5 - Make a carb hole</h3>
<p>Now, you&rsquo;ll want to rotate your bottle 90 degrees from the downstem and create another small hole. Use the same method you did in step 4 to create this new hole on the side of the bottle. The only thing to remember here is to place the carb hole in a location that makes it easy for you to hold the bottle while taking a hit.</p>
<h3 id="8">Step #6 - Fill it up</h3>
<p>Leave the downstem inserted and hold the water bottle bong upright so that you can carefully fill the bottle with enough water to cover the bottom of the downstem. Once you see that the bottom of your downstem is completely submerged, it&rsquo;s good to go.</p>
<h3 id="9">Step #7 - Pack the bowl and spark up</h3>
<p>Grind your weed up and gently pack it into the bowl. Make sure the bowl is inserted in the downstem, hold the bottle sideways, place your thumb over the carb hole, and ignite your bud!</p>
